Atlanta, GA Event Recap
Atlanta, GA – August 19, 2009Lou Walker Senior Center
The Patchwork of Hope NetworkTM (P.H.N.) took a swing back to the south, landing in Atlanta on August 19. The Lou Walker Senior Center played host to the fifth P.H.N. event which drew an audience of nearly 200 men and women. Atlanta-area physician, Dr. Anthony Grasso joined representatives from the National Council on Aging and National Pain Foundation to discuss the facts about shingles and postherpetic neuralgia (PHN), also known as after-shingles pain. And campaign spokeswoman, Kathy Sebby, shared her personal struggle with shingles and PHN.
After the seminar, attendees joined the Lou Walker Senior Center quilting group to make quilt squares representing their own experiences with shingles and PHN or pledging their support for those currently suffering. More than 75 squares were added to the quilt which will make its way to New York City for PHN Awareness Day on September 15.

Local doctor Anthony Grasso, M.D., is the Fellowship Director for the International Pain Management Program at Non-Surgical Orthopeadics, P.C. in Marietta, GA.
